ERASMUS PLUS

Erasmus+ is the European Union Programme in the fields of Education, Training, Youth and Sport for the period 2021-2027.

The aim is to contribute to the personal and professional development of citizens, offering people of all ages the opportunity to develop and share knowledge and skills through experiences and mobility in schools, institutes and organisations. Playing a central role in the Programme are issues like social inclusion, environmental sustainability, the digital transition and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.

Erasmus+ is open to any organisation active in the field of education, training, youth or sport. Some actions are also open to the participation of other actors in the labour market.

The programme – managed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) – is divided into three key actions, each of which addresses a specific objective.

Key Action 1 – Individual mobility to further learning

The aim is to encourage the mobility of students, staff, youth workers and young people. Organisations can decide to send students and staff to other participating countries or welcome staff and students from other countries, as well as organise teaching, training and volunteering activities.

Key Action 2 – Innovation and good practices

The action aims to support the education, training and youth sectors through five main activities: strategic partnerships, knowledge alliances, sector skills alliances, higher education skills development projects and youth skills development projects.

Key Action 3 – Support for policy reform

The initiative aims to increase the participation of young people in democratic life, in particular in debates with policy makers, and also contribute to the development of knowledge in the fields of education, training and youth.
